LGES plans to build an Arizona plant with 11 GWh/year capacity to supply cylinder-type batteries for EVs and electric tools. The company earlier this year announced that construction on the facility was set to begin in the second quarter, with mass production scheduled for the second half of 2024 But the plant may not go ahead. LGES said it is currently reviewing various investment options in light of the “unprecedented economic conditions and investment circumstances in the United States....

Having set a new bar so recently, you might not have expected Logitech to announce another high-end mouse so soon, but the company is back to set another record with its G402 Hyperion Fury, an ultra-fast FPS (first-person shooter) gaming mouse. The G402 touts track speed of over 500 IPS (inches per second) using Logitech’s Fusion Engine sensor technology, as well as the company’s Delta Zero sensor tech for extreme accuracy....

The first menu lets you switch between the G402’s on-board memory for saving profiles or the host computer. Saving to the mouse has a few advantages, namely that these profiles won’t be lost in the event of a format or if you take your mouse to game on a different system. As we mentioned earlier, there are eight programmable buttons on the G402 and the software utility makes it easy to customize them by showing in a diagram exactly where each button is....

Looking back at our review, we gave the G502 a high score of 90 with the only real complaints being the lack of wireless support and the low-profile design, which might not suit those that prefer a palm grip. Everything else was spot on; the features, performance, price and overall look did it for us. Instead of a new Mac Mini, Apple used its March event to unveil the Mac Studio, which looks like a souped-up Mac Mini. This week, developer Steve Troughton-Smith tweeted he’d found signs of a new Mini in the Studio’s firmware. The firmware mentions one as-of-yet unknown device as “Macmini10,1,” indicating a new generation Mac Mini based on model identifiers for the series. Achieving our target frame rate of 60fps wasn’t as easy at 1680x1050 as we were expecting. This required the use of either the GeForce GTX 560 Ti or Radeon HD 6850 which averaged 62fps and 63fps respectively. Falling just shy of the desired 60fps target was the GeForce GTX 560 with 55fps and the Radeon HD 7770 with 52fps. Graphics cards such as the Radeon HD 6790 and GeForce GTX 460 failed to average 50fps....

At 1920x1200, the GeForce GTX 260 and Radeon HD 5830 easily surpassed the 100fps mark. The Radeon HD 5770 lost only 2fps from 1680x1050, while the Radeon HD 4850 was 20fps slower. The GeForce 9800 GT dropped a single frame. Both the Radeon HD 5670 and GeForce GT 240 lost 8fps, averaging 58fps, while the GeForce GT 430 was again the slowest card we tested, scoring 40fps. Using high quality settings there is an obvious drop in performance from what we observed on the previous page. The GeForce GTX 660 went from 60fps in medium, down to 45fps in high. Likewise the Radeon HD 7850 dropped from 56fps to just 40fps. Both still offered playable performance but given the resolution we don’t expect to go much farther. The GeForce GTX 670 was able to deliver 60fps, while the Radeon HD 7950 Boost just fell short with 59fps....

Metro’s very high quality settings at just 1680x1050 is already looking like a seriously demanding benchmark. The GeForce GTX 680 fell short of the 60fps target with 57fps, while the Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition was slower again with 56fps. The mid-range GeForce GTX 660 Ti and Radeon HD 7950 cards averaged 47fps and 45fps, while the Radeon HD 7870 and GeForce GTX 660 dipped below 40fps. Only the GeForce GTX Titan was able to average over 60fps at 1920x1200....

The most noticeable changes the update brings are in the Start Menu, some of which former Windows 10 users will be happy to see: being able to drag icons from the menu and drop them onto the taskbar and the introduction of folders, which are created by dragging and dropping apps on top of each other. Users can also add more personalization to the Start menu panel by choosing to have either more pinned files/apps, more recommended ones, or stick with the default layout....

Earlier this week, Xbox Insiders reported they were testing an “optimized” Minecraft build with ray tracing options. The inclusion indicated that Mojang would have RT support ready in an upcoming update. Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case. On Thursday, developers announced that ray tracing in the Xbox Series X|S version of Minecraft is not imminent. What insiders saw this week was an early prototype that was accidentally left in the preview build....

MSI’s slate measures a bulky 10.6" long, 7.2" tall and 0.61" thick (271x183x15.5mm). On the front we’re looking at a 5-megapixel CMOS with a 24mm f/2.4 lens, designed of course for taking selfies. Ideally I would have liked to see a slightly wider angle lens to capture even more friends in one selfie, but generally speaking it’s wide enough. Both cameras are capable of 1080p video recording at 30 frames per second. Nokia is known for producing some pretty great cameras in their high end smartphones, but in the mid-range they’re less of a clear winner....

The recommendation comes after an investigation into a New Year’s Day 2021 crash in Avenal, California, that killed nine people including seven children.
