The new vulnerability, categorized as CVE-2022-4135, is a heap buffer overflow issue in the GPU that can result in malicious actors gaining unauthorized access to information, induce application instability, or potentially provide permission to execute arbitrary code on the target machine. Google’s TAG acknowledged the vulnerability in a recent stable channel update that was deployed to prevent further exploitation. Google engineers updated stable channel 107.0.5304.121 for Mac and Linux systems as well as channel 107....

Before we cover actual keyboard shortcuts, in case you didn’t know, in OS X there’s a master list of shortcuts that can be found in the System Preferences. To find it: Go to the System Preferences and choose “Keyboard.” In the “Shortcuts” tab, go through the sections on the left to turn on or off the shortcuts you want to use. Optional: While we don’t recommend it, should you prefer it, here you can also set F keys to work as function keys primarily (instead of the default for brightness, Mission Control, music playback, etc)....

For those concerned with the use of plastic, I don’t see this as a serious issue. For the most part the use of plastic is limited to the side rear-angled front vents and it’s hard to distinguish between them and the aluminum front doors. Then there is the issue of the steel body opposed to a lighter aluminum body. At 11.5kg the FT04 is still relatively light for a big case though it’s still 33% heavier than the original Fortress FT01....

At first glance, the Inzone M9 spec sheet points to a typical high-end gaming display. 27-inch panel size, 4K resolution, IPS technology and up to a 144Hz refresh rate with standard adaptive sync variable refresh features. It also comes DisplayHDR 600 certified, 1ms rated response times, all the usual stuff you’d expect in this class. YouTube channel Work From Home repurposed Car Thing as a desktop music controller and I have to say, it looks right at home in this environment. With it, you’ll be able to skip tracks and adjust the volume using buttons and knobs with a tactile feel. There’s also a touchscreen for those that like to swipe and a built-in mic for voice commands if you’re feeling a bit lazy. An ambient light sensor helps the display match the brightness of your environment....

According to the latest data from web testing firm Ookla, median download speeds for Starlink fell in France, Canada, Germany, New Zealand, the UK and the US from the second quarter of 2021 to the second quarter of 2022. The dip ranged in severity from between nine percent and 54 percent. In the US, the media download speed was just north of 60 Mbps. Ookla said that is more than enough for at least one connected device to perform common tasks on the Internet like download games, stream video, and video chat with friends and family....

The attacks, highlighted by Group-IB (via Bleeping Computer), use the browser-in-the-browser technique to make a phishing lure appear genuine. The process starts when a target, usually a competitive or pro gamer, receives a direct message inviting them to join a tournament for the likes of League of Legends, Counter-Strike, Dota 2, or PUBG. The message is a ruse, of course. The sender includes a link to a professional-looking site of what appears to be an e-sports company that hosts and sponsors tournaments and other competitions....

As reported by The Guardian, the EU-funded study carried out in collaboration with the cybercrime center at Europol covered 8,000 people in the 16-19 age group in nine European countries. Digital piracy was a widespread practice that one in three survey participants admitted to. The Synology DS2413+ maxed out the Gigabit Ethernet connection with a transfer rate of 106.5MB/s in our single large file download test. This is similar performance to that of the DS213+, Thecus N5550 and even the DS713+ with the DX513 expansion unit. The DS2413+ continued to perform well in our game download test, hitting the top of our graph with 71.3MB/s. Again, it just edged out the DS213+ as well as the DS713+ armed with the DX513....

The average desktop replacement weighs 6 pounds or more, sports a Core i7 quad-core chip, at least 6GB of RAM, around 750GB of HDD storage (256GB or 512GB if you opt for an SSD), and offers tons of connectivity. Battery life has never been one of their strong points due to the large displays and powerful hardware, but surprisingly newer models are getting up to 6 hours of runtime. You can thank Intel’s Ivy Bridge for that....

Motherboard, Processor, Memory AMD reclaimed a seat in our Budget Box a couple years ago with its Llano-based desktop APUs and it has maintained that position with its Trinity and Richland chips. Although we’d have no problem recommending the newer Kaveri-based A8-7600 over the A10-6800K, but the former doesn’t seem to be available yet. If that changes before our next update, the A8-7600 is a better choice as it consumes around half the power and delivers similar performance (the MSI board above will work with Kaveri APUs)....

Sources have told Reuters that Tencent senior executives met with Ubisoft’s founding Guillemot family in May to discuss making an additional stake purchase in the company. Tencent bought five percent of Ubisoft in 2018. It isn’t clear how much more Tencent wants, but it’s aiming to become Ubisoft’s single largest shareholder. The deal’s details aren’t final yet, but Tencent is making an aggressive offer at a premium. Ubisoft’s stock price over the last three months was 44 euros a share, but Tencent is offering 100....

Tesla has already increased the price of its vehicles several times this year, and today’s news won’t make their value propositions any better. New car purchases won’t come with a mobile connector included anymore. Instead, you’ll be able to buy the Gen 2 mobile connector bundle (capable of Level 1 charging) separately for an additional $200. Tesla will, however, start including more plug adapters in this connector kit. While this mobile connector charges Teslas at a sluggish 2-3 miles of range per hour, it can come in handy if you want to top up at a friend’s place or in an area without charging stations as it can plug into a standard outlet....

Since then we’ve seen and tested a few more mechanical keyboards, such as the Corsair K70 RGB Rapidfire, the Division Zero X40 and Das’ Prime 13 (this last one, not really meant for gaming but a superb keyboard nonetheless), all nice options, and all priced at well over $100. So, what if you want a mechanical keyboard but only have $40 to spend? Not long ago that wouldn’t have been an option, but with the market now flooded with loads of Cherry MX knock-off switches, this has enabled companies to develop very affordable mechanical keyboards....

That said, the HD 7870 offers a better value and delivers totally playable performance at 56fps. The GTX 670 also performed well, but because it costs more and performs slightly worse than the HD 7950, it’s not the best option here....
