The x264 HD Benchmark 3.0 also shows all three budget AM3 motherboards delivering the same performance at 69fps each. This was enough to overtake the Core i5 750. The last encoding software we used to benchmark was TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress. Here the budget AM3 boards delivered very similar performance.

Most gaming chassis have a standardized layout for installing components, but Antec’s open-air Cannon case looks to shake that formula by letting you mount the GPU on the front where a radiator would normally be placed. A PCIe 4.0 riser cable is included out of the box, in case you want to go that route and show off your GPU in maximum style. Though, why bother with the 440mm wide pad when you can have the full meter-wide extended version? Nope, I can’t think of a good reason either. The P3X has been given a stitched anti-fraying edge that will help with durability, so that could be a perk if you’ve destroyed other cloth pads. As mentioned, the pad stretches 1000mm long but it is also 400mm deep and 3mm thick. Underneath the P3X features a non-slip rubber base which will stop it from walking all over your desk....
Citing three people with knowledge of the matter, Bloomberg writes that Apple and Meta were responding to forged Emergency Data Request (EDR) forms. While standard data requests are only provided by a warrant or a judge, EDRs, used in cases where there is an imminent danger, don’t require a court order. According to the report, the stolen information has been used for fraud schemes, to access accounts, and to enable harassment campaigns....
Should this scenario come to fruition, it wouldn’t be surprising to see year-over-year iPad shipments decline by up to 15 percent. The 2023 iPad drought would pave the way for an all-new model sporting a foldable design to debut sometime next year. Kuo isn’t the first to speak on the subject of a foldable iPad, but other predictions have it scheduled to arrive in 2025 or beyond. Kuo said he is positive about the foldable iPad landing in 2024, and has heard that it will feature a carbon fiber kickstand from Chinese manufacturer Anjie Technology....
This step gives both Apple and Foxconn the opportunity to ensure everything is operating smoothly, and also allows them to identify and implement tweaks that could increase efficiency, boost yields or lower production costs. The new iPhone SE is powered by Apple’s own A15 Bionic SoC, the same chip that drives the current iPhone 13 lineup. It features a 4.7-inch Retina HD display with thick top and bottom borders reminiscent of the iPhone 8, and retains the familiar Home button with Touch ID support. The new SE also shares the same glass finish as the iPhone 13 family, and is splash-, water- and dust-resistant thanks to its IP67 rating....
Those with knowledge of the company’s plans claim Apple is facing challenges with the device’s camera and software. Overheating is another concern, and it is believed that one of the wearable’s two main processing chips is to blame. The chips needed to power the headset are said to be high-end components like those typically found in laptops. As you can imagine, squeezing them into something designed to be worn on your head could present some engineering challenges....

According to a new report from Wired, Firefox only services a mere four percent of the Internet’s browser users, a far cry from the twenty percent it boasted over a decade ago. Though Firefox is still speedy and an excellent option for anyone who cares about minimizing their digital footprint, it’s evident that it simply cannot outperform Chrome (and Chromium-based browsers) in terms of user numbers. As Firefox’s market share declines, so too does its revenue and staff numbers....
The Phenom II X2 560 appears to have more horsepower when it comes to compression, as it beat both Asrock mini-PCs in our WinRAR tests. Both the large single file and multiple smaller file tests favored the AMD Phenom II X2 560 system. The Asrock Vision 3D did however show considerable improvements over the Core 100HT-BD. While the Asrock Core 100HT-BD was only a few seconds faster than our AMD Phenom II X2 560 test system in the Adobe Photoshop CS5 tests, the new Vision 3D was considerably faster....
The Asrock Z87 Extreme11/ac performed well in Cinebench R11.5 as it just beat the multi-threading and single threaded CPU scores of the Asrock Fatal1ty Z87 Killer and MSI Z87 XPower. The Asrock Z87 Extreme11/ac just managed to outscore the MSI Z87 XPower in the graphics test, while it was a fraction slower in the physics test. You will notice that the Core i7-4960X dominated the physics test with a score of 13872pts thanks to its twelve threads....
Asus’ latest boasts an 8,000 Hz polling rate providing a 0.125ms response time alongside swappable ROG NX mechanical switches, PBT doubleshot keycaps with a mid-height profile and shorter stem to reduce key wobble, and switch stabilizer mechanisms to ensure smooth strokes. Asus has also added sound-dampening foam to reduce pinging for improved typing acoustics, and of course there is RGB lighting. Elsewhere, you’ll find metal media keys and volume controls as well as a detachable wrist wrest with an integrated light diffuser and a USB pass-through port for connecting other devices....
The iPad was able to outclass virtually every other tablet computer experience before it, and it’s not going too far in saying that it created a market that didn’t even exist. The combination of iOS on a larger screen and the momentum inherited from the iPhone helped to account for the massive tablet sales. Fast forward to the present, everybody wants in, and most are taking advantage of the Android OS....
While Metro 2033 strongly favored the GeForce GTX 580, we saw quite the opposite when testing with Splinter Cell Conviction. The GTX 580 was 27% slower than the Radeon HD 5970 while it beat the Radeon HD 5870 and GTX 480 by just 14% and 12%.
The absence of M-series chips in the GeForce 10 family also simplifies Nvidia’s graphics offerings for consumers. Buyers can look at laptops that pack GTX 1060, GTX 1070 and GTX 1080 GPUs knowing these are near equivalents to what desktop gamers can enjoy. Case in point, the new Asus ROG G752VS is a massive 17-inch system that packs a GeForce GTX 1070 GPU. The GTX 1070 replaces the GTX 980 (the more powerful, non-M variant) in Nvidia’s mobile line-up, with both chips featuring similar TDPs near the 150-watt mark....
The particular SoC in question is the Intel Atom Z2560, which is a 32nm part with a 1.6 GHz dual-core Saltwell CPU, 1MB of L2 cache, a PowerVR SGX544MP2 GPU clocked at 400 MHz, and a 32-bit dual-channel LPDDR2 memory controller providing 8.5 GB/s of bandwidth. With specs like this, the Z2560 lines up well with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 400 SoC, which has featured in several devices around this price point before, such as the Motorola Moto G....
The Radeon HD 5670 performed nicely in Resident Evil 5 as well, beating the GeForce 9800 GT by a single frame per second and the GeForce GT 240 by a 21% performance margin. Unfortunately at this point we were not surprised to see the Radeon HD 5670 was still 24% slower than the Radeon HD 4770.
