This time the GTX 780 SLI combo defeated the R9 295X2 when testing with Tomb Raider. At 2560x1600, the R9 295X2 was just 4% slower with an average of 86fps, though this meant that it was still 48% faster than the GTX 780 Ti and 87% faster than the R9 290X. Compared to the HD 7990 though, the R9 295X2 was 46% faster and 39% faster than the GTX 690.
The R9 295X2 was just 0.7ms slower than the GTX 780 SLI configuration when measuring frame time performance, so it looks like AMD has solved its frame time issues.
The R9 295X2 was the fastest graphics card tested in Crysis 3, delivering 52fps at 2560x1600. Although this meant that it was just 4% faster than the GTX 780 SLI, it was 40% faster than the GTX 780 Ti and 44% faster than the R9 290X. Next to the HD 7990 and the GTX 690, theR9 295X2 was 38% and 25% faster.
Here we see again that there is no reason to be concerned with the R9 295X2’s frame time performance yet. Taking 24.9ms between frames, the R9 295X2 was the fastest graphics card tested at 2560x1600.
