When at idle the Gigabyte GTX 780 GHz Edition and GTX 780 Ti OC allowed for a system consumption of 60 watts which is quite typical.
The GTX 780 GHz Edition consumed 15% more power than a standard GTX 780, as it hit 319 watts. The Gigabyte GTX 780 Ti OC consumed just 5% more power than a standard GTX 780 Ti. Then compared to the Radeon R9 290X they consumed around 5% more power.
This time when testing with Max Payne 3 we see that the Gigabyte GTX 780 GHz Edition again consumed 15% more power than the standard GTX 780. The Gigabyte GTX 780 Ti OC consumed just 3% more power than a standard GTX 780 Ti this time and at 280 watts it used 10% less power than the Radeon R9 290X.
Finishing up we have Sleeping Dogs and again we find that the Gigabyte GTX 780 GHz Edition consumed 15% more power than a standard GTX 780. Meanwhile the Gigabyte GTX 780 Ti OC consumed just 7% more power than a standard GTX 780 Ti and 7% less than the Radeon R9 290X.
Despite the aggressive factory overclocks on the Gigabyte GTX 780 GHz Edition and GTX 780 Ti OC cards, the temperatures have been kept well within tolerances. In fact both cards run surprisingly cool at 78 degrees and 77 degrees, while the lower clocked reference GTX 780 cards operate slightly hotter at 80 degrees.
