The Asrock Vision HT 420D struck out in our HandBrake testing, producing just 62.6fps and 70.3fps when using dual-channel memory. In comparison, the AMD A8-7600 set to 45W produced 103.4fps, while the Core i3 desktop processor allows for over 150fps. Our MaxxPI² memory bandwidth test shows that write performance of the Asus P7P55D Deluxe is on the level, while read speeds are a little lacking. Keep in mind that all configurations are using the same DDR3 memory at the same frequency with the same timings. When measuring CPU cache performance we find that the Asus P7P55D Deluxe is on par with the Maximum III Gene and MSI P55-GD65 motherboards. Interestingly, the AMD processors deliver significantly better read performance in this test, while their write performance is slightly slower than the Intel Core processors....

The issue in question is related to AMD’s implementation of Firmware Trusted Platform Module (fTPM), a firmware-based solution that bypasses the need for a discrete TPM. Specifically, it was found that select Ryzen system configurations could perform extended fTPM-related memory transactions, which could result in temporary pauses until the transaction is finished. The 2560x1600 resolution is obviously only recommended for those with high-end graphics cards. The old GeForce GTX 285, which is still considered to be a powerful graphics card, averaged 58fps with a minimum of 40fps. The GeForce GTX 275 and Radeon HD 4890 both dipped below 40fps for the minimum recorded frame rate, while they averaged 55fps. Once the minimum frame rates dip down to 30fps you will start to notice lag spikes and for that reason we do not recommend gaming with the Radeon HD 4870 or slower at 2560x1600 using the high quality preset....

Diablo Immortal is a free-to-play version of the mega-hit series, designed for mobile devices and PC. Dutch news outlet Tweakers notes that players in the two regions could previously pre-register for the game. However, that option inexplicably disappeared back in April when Blizzard announced a release date. A post to the Diablo Immortal subreddit last week confirmed that players in the Netherlands and Belgium would not be able to download the game in their countries....
In its complaint, filed in Delaware federal court, Boston Dynamics claims Ghost Robotics’ Vision 60 and Spirit 40, which dog-like robots, infringe on the Hyundai-owned company’s patents. Boston Dynamics included pictures taken by Airman 1st Class Anabel Del Valle in the filing that show tests conducted by the US Air Force using Ghost Robotics’ quadrupeds at Nellis air base in Nevada. The company says Vision 60 and Spirit 40 infringe on patents covering how the robots negotiate stairs, their walking gait, and their balance, among other things....
The 3Dmark 11 data indicates that the GeForce GTX 460 (768MB) is the fastest graphics card tested with a score of 5360pts, just ahead the Radeon HD 6790’s 5276pts. The 6770 clocked in at 14% slower than the 6790, but it proved to be 5% faster than the pricier GTX 550 Ti. The $110 GTX 450 and HD 6750 delivered almost the same performance with 3758pts and 3815pts, respectively. AMD’s rebadged HD 6670 was 4% faster than the old HD 5670 while the HD 6570 and HD 5570 were 14% slower with virtually identical performance....
Our first file copy test measures single large compressed file performance. Here the Crucial m4 128GB is the fastest SSD tested with a throughput of 215.1MB/s, making it only slightly slower than the larger 256GB model. That said do not expect the 64GB model to do as well as it was limited to just 164.8MB/s, making it almost 20% slower than the 128GB model. While we were not expecting much from the SSDNow V+200 120GB we were very disappointed with the SSD 840 120GB....
For some reason the ADATA S596 Turbo 32GB was limited to 0.05MB/s making it slower than a conventional desktop 3.5" hard drive. The Momentus XT 500GB was also very slow but this is less surprising given that it is a mechanical drive. The write performance of the OCZ Onyx 32/64GB SSDs was not quite as impressive as they provided less than half the performance of the OCZ Agility 2 and Vertex 2 40GB drives which produced the best results....
The following year we tried out the less subtle Thermaltake Armor A30 which was outfitted with similar hardware. That review was best known for our apparently controversial decision to use a 2L coke bottle for a size comparison. However before either of those reviews were published I got my first real taste of serious small form factor gaming back in 2009 with the Silverstone SG04. Arguably the best case of them all, the SG04 was aimed squarely at the gaming community....
The lesser-clocked FX-8120 performed as well as the Core i7-975 Extreme Edition, while the FX-6100 was 3% slower than the X6 1100T. Clock for clock, AMD’s dated processor won the hexa-core battle. Likewise, the X4 980 was much faster than the FX-4170. The x264 HD Benchmark 4.0 produced another interesting result. In the Pass 1 test, the FX-8150’s 121.3fps showing was 2% slower than the X6 1100T, 15% slower than the i5-2500K, and 17% slower than the i7-2600K....
The FX-6100 was slightly better than the Phenom II X6 1100T with consumption, though we should stress only slightly. It’s a similar situation when comparing the FX-4170 and Phenom II X4 980, but there is an improvement nonetheless.
In its preliminary financial results, Nvidia revealed that the quarter ending July 31 missed expectations by a wide margin. Previous guidance put Q2 FY23 revenue at $8.10 billion, but this has been revised down 21% to $6.70 billion, marking a 19% quarter-over-quarter fall. Gaming revenue was hit particularly hard, dropping 33.33% YoY from $3.06 billion to a projected $2.04 billion.
