Simon, better known by his YouTube handle Ruben Sim, was first banned from playing Roblox several years ago. His evasion of that ban, documented on his YouTube channel, and his public encouragement of trolling in the game, resulted in a lawsuit being filed against him by Roblox late last year. It concluded last week when he settled with Roblox. Per their agreement—signed by a judge and legally enforceable—Simon has to pay the company $150,000 in damages and leave it alone afterward....

Out of the box, the Q6600 is only good for a Cinebench R15 multi-threaded score of around 250pts. By comparison, a $120 Core i3-6100 scored around 400pts and the i7-6700K hit over 900pts. Overclocking the Q6600 to 3.1GHz only boosted the Cinebench scores to around 320pts. Pairing the Q6600 with either the GeForce GTX 1060 or GTX 1070 is a bad idea. Even the GTX 1050 and RX 460 seem like overkill....

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Legendary Entertainment, the company behind Dune and Godzilla, has picked up the Duke Nukem film rights from Gearbox and now plans to make a movie starring the character. Cobra Kai creators Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg are said to be producing the project. This writer loved 1996’s Duke Nukem 3D—there were two 2D games before it. The FPS was a popular choice when playing LAN games with friends, fighting for screen time alongside the original Command and Conquer....

Helium takes thousands of years to form within the earth through radioactive decay. Its small size makes it lighter than air, so it slowly seeps through the earth’s crust and collects in gas pockets we can drill into and tap. Its extremely long gestation time makes it virtually non-renewable, so the earth will eventually run out. We are currently facing a global helium shortage. Russia’s Amur natural gas processing plant, which supplies about one-third of the world’s helium, recently suffered two fires — one in January and another in October....

It may take a few years for the hardware to get better and prices to come down before VR has a shot at reaching a mainstream audience, but interest on the development side is real and that’s already a good sign. Many amazing VR experiences are being created and they are a far cry from the VR of decades past. While many a video game has been designed for people who enjoy killing aliens, Alien: Isolation can only have been created for people who derive some perverse pleasure out of being killed by an alien. Sometimes the alien will kill you while you’re running away… …and sometimes while you’re hiding under a table. Sometimes it will play with you before killing you… …and other times it will kill you while you check email....

I liked gaming on the Alienware 13. The 1080p display included with my review model was bright and responsive, even though color quality leaves a little to be desired. The keyboard was excellent for gaming, and I always enjoy messing around with the AlienFX lighting integrated around the system. Port selection also appears fine for a typical laptop gamer. The decidedly average size and weight of the Alienware 13 as far as gaming notebooks go leaves a little to be desired....

Looking at 3DMark to begin with, the Alienware 15 R3 doesn’t perform particularly well. The GS34VR, another GTX 1060 laptop, is 30 percent faster in Sky Diver and 9 percent faster in Fire Strike, which is no small feat from a laptop with largely the same hardware. This isn’t good news for the Alienware 15, but this is only a synthetic benchmark; let’s take a look at actual gaming performance....

Lockeford residents will be able to order “thousands” of eligible Prime items for drone delivery, which will presumably be restricted to those weighing five pounds or lighter. They should arrive in under an hour, and buyers can track the drones online. Over two dozen prototype drones have been tested since Prime Air’s inception, the latest of these (top of page) use a hexagonal design that provides six degrees of freedom and propellors designed to minimize high-frequency soundwaves....

You can spot the seven chiplets in the diagram below. In the middle is the monolithic compute die with all the cores. South of it is a pair of PCIe 5.0 controllers and flanking the sides are four DDR5 controllers that, based on the diagram, manage two lanes each. AWS C7g instances using the Graviton3 are now available with up to 64 vCPUs, or one whole processor. In its maximum configuration, the system has 128 GB of DDR5 and 30 Gbps of network bandwidth....

Despite featuring a more advanced version of the Radeon R7, the A10-7800 was no faster than the A8-7600 in Company of Heroes 2. The A10-7800 was able to provide a few extra frames in Metro: Last Light, beating the A8-7600 by a 13% margin. This time the A10-7800 was just 6% faster than the A8-7600 at 1280x800, delivering a total of 36.6fps. The A10-7800 averaged 68.4fps at 1280x800 in Tomb Raider, making it 8% faster than the A8-7600....

Clocked at just 1.5GHz with no Turbo Boost-like feature, the A4-5000 was always going to be light on power. Because it does feature four dedicated cores, the chip actually performed better than expected in some of our tests, and could surprise you in applications that utilize four threads well. That said, when compared to the dual-core Pentium 2117U, the A4-5000 was left red faced on more than one occasion. While some tests were rather close, such as Excel 2013, AMD simply wasn’t competitive in others like WinRAR and Photoshop CS6....

The X4 630 provides ample horsepower for general usage, and it doesn’t have much trouble tackling modern games either. That said, most of today’s games are GPU hogs and less dependent on CPU performance (as seen in Dirt 3), which is why almost all integrated GPUs have failed to-date. In January, Intel’s Sandy Bridge processors earned some serious respect for achieving significant improvements over its long-mocked embedded solutions. Despite making great strides in the graphics department, Sandy Bridge still had some ground to cover before marginalizing entry-level video cards....

Interestingly, it is the Core 2 Quad Q9650 that performs awfully in WinRAR. The Phenom II X4 965 was ~39% faster in the multi-thread test. Meanwhile, the Core i7 940 still dominated this test with an impressive 3056KB/s multi-thread result. The Phenom II X4 965 was 6% faster than the Phenom II X4 955 when testing with ScienceMark 2.0, making it the fastest tested processor in this benchmark. The Core i7 940 was matched by the older Core 2 Duo E8600 processor, both of which were considerably slower than the Phenom II X4 965....

The Radeon HD 7790 struggles with Far Cry 3 at 1680x1050 rendering just 27fps, which is a fraction less than the 28fps averaged by the GeForce GTX 650 Ti. The Radeon HD 7790 performed well in Max Payne 3 with an average frame rate of 49.7fps at 1680x1050. This meant that it was 16% faster than the GeForce GTX 650 Ti which managed just 43fps. The frame time performance backs up what we saw before, the Radeon HD 7790 was 14% faster than the GeForce GTX 650 Ti....

Unfortunately, we are not going to talk about either of those things today since the day hasn’t come yet. We will get you up to speed about new Radeon graphics cards outside the R9 290X, however. AMD has done away with the Radeon ‘HD’ naming scheme that they have used for the past 6 years and replaced it with something a bit more complex. Previous years have seen the release of a new GPU generation every year which makes the Radeon HD 7000’s shelf life surprising, even more so considering the majority of the new RX 200 series cards rebadges from existing HD 7000 products....

Since our day-one review of the Radeon VII, we were told by AMD driver improvements were coming but there would be no performance improvements, however the numerous stability issues we experience should be solved. And indeed, with the update in place the Radeon VII is now rock solid, which is a massive improvement. Today we have over 30 games to check out, including the new World of Tanks update as well as Apex Legends....

Total War: Warhammer has been tested out of interest sake using both the DirectX 12 and DirectX 11, the focus will be on the more modern DX12 API but as I said the DX11 results have been included purely out of interest sake. Here the R5 1600 easily beats the 7800X and when overclocked the minimum frame rate was 16% greater, the Ryzen CPU did still trail the 7700K by a decent margin as Intel’s quad-core proves to be quite the beast in this game....

Today we’re checking out the Ryzen 9 6900HS, an HS series chip targeting a 35W TDP for performance-oriented ultraportable systems, as opposed to the regular 45W TDP for the rest of the line-up. Aside from this TDP difference, the 6900HS is essentially the same as the 6900HX on the spec sheet: 8 CPU cores with 16 threads, base clock speeds of 3.3 GHz and boost up to 4.9 GHz, 16 MB of L3 cache plus 4MB of L2, and a new 12 compute unit RDNA2 integrated GPU clocked up to 2....
